The Paper Pattern for UCEED is as follows :

Duration: 3-hours
The question paper will contain 100 questions distributed among the following six broad topics :

  • Visualization and spatial ability,
  • Observation and design sensitivity,
  • Environmental and social awareness,
  • Analytical and logical reasoning,
  • Language and creativity
  • Design thinking and problem -solving.

The question paper will consist of three sections :

  • Numerical Answer Type (NAT)
  • Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

*There is also negative marking for wrong answers for NAT and MCQ.

CEED exam is divided into two parts as given below :
PART A

  • Mode of the Exam – Computer-Based Screening Test
  • Type of Questions – Multiple Choice Questions
  • Subjects – General awareness, Mathematical and symbolic Aptitude, Basic Design ability and Observation and visualization.
  • Number of Questions – 50
  • Duration – One Hour
  • Sections :
    Section 1 consists of 5 Questions based on numerical. Each question carries 2 Marks and 0.6 marks will be deducted for any wrong answer.
    Section 2 consists of 10 Questions. Each question carries 2 Marks and No Negative Marking for the incorrect answer.
    Section 3 Consists of 35 questions. Each question carries 2 marks and 0.6 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Part B

  • Mode of the Exam – Pen and Paper Based
  • Subjects – Design and Drawing Capabilities

Duration – Two Hours

Eligibility criteria for M.Des :

  • Min 60% marks in B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch./B.Des./BFA/M.Sc./M.A./MCA
  • Qualifying score in GATE/CEED or Equivalent National Level Exam
  • Relaxation for reserved category as per Govt. of India norms apply

Eligibility criteria for P.h.D in Design :

  • M.Des. with minimum marks/ CPI in Qualifying Degree.
  • A minimum of 65 percent marks OR a CPI/CGPA of 6.5 shall be required at the master's level qualifying examination.
  • Relaxation for reserved category as per Govt. of India norms apply
