Application & Admission Process


The admission process for PGDP is in two phases :

  • Phase 1 – MITID-DAT (Design Aptitude Test) is conducted at various centres across the country on 5th April 2020. Based on scores obtained from MITID-DAT, shortlisted candidates will be called for the second phase.
  • Phase2 - The second phase of the admission procedure will consist of studio tests followed by personal interviews at MIT-ID campus in Pune.

Following are the key dates of the entrance application and admission process :

  • Last date for application submission : 28th Feb'22
  • Design Aptitude Test : 3rd Apr'22
  • DAT Result: 20th Apr'22

Exam Pattern for B.Des :

The Exam is for 100 marks with approximately 45 marks will be subjective and 55 marks objective questions. (as per the sample paper)However, the paper pattern might change.

The exam is a 100 marks paper with 60 marks for subjective questions and 40 marks for objective questions (as per the sample paper). However, the paper pattern might change every academic year.

The highlights of teaching methods are :

  • In MIT-ID all programs at Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well Ph.D. level are based on the credit systems that allow different weightage to different courses.
  • The pedagogy at MIT-ID emerges from the institute's philosophy and is based on the premise of ‘Learning by Doing’.
  • Inputs are given through industrial visits, case study discussions, live projects, classroom interactions, and guest lectures by industry professionals.

Scholarship Details :

MITID grants full or partial scholarships to about 5 to 10 students each year based on their performance and financial needs, by conducting an interview. Along with the duly filled scholarship form, one will have to attach necessary documents showing the income statements of the family members/ guardians.


Student Loan Details :

The Institute has an exclusive tie up with CREDILA (an educational loan unit of HDFC) for providing educational loan to students securing admission to the institute. Disbursement of the loan is as per the bank’s terms and conditions.
