  • 1. What is NATA?

    The national aptitude test in architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for Architecture. It is one of the two qualifying exams for admission to B.Arch program. The other exam is JEE (Paper 2).

  • 2. Who is eligible for NATA?

    Any person who has

    1. Obtained 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent / 10+3 Diploma.
    2. Taken Physics, Chemistry, Maths as subject in 10+2 / 10+3 examination and has got 50% aggregate marks in those subjects.
    3. The lower age limit of the candidate is 17 years as on 31.07.2020.

  • 3. Where to appear for NATA?

    At designated Test Centers located at centers / colleges / schools of architecture in India. Updated list of Test centers is available at the following website: http://www.nata.in

  • 4. When does NATA exam happen?

    NATA Exam occurs generally twice in a year. Once in April & once in May.

  • 5. How to register / apply for NATA?

    Registration for NATA can only be done Online. Candidate can apply at website and make the payment either through credit cards / debit cards / net banking.

  • 6. How is NATA conducted?

    NATA is Computer cum Paper based exam. The Aptitude & Mathematics Test is a computer-based test. The Drawing Test is paper based test.

  • 7. For how long is the NATA score valid for?

    The NATA score is only valid for one year. So, the NATA 2022 score will be valid only for admission to B.Arch program in admission year 2020-21.

  • 8. When, Where and How is the Score card available?

    Results will be available on the website and some other websites which will be announced in various electronic / print media before declaration of results on specified date.

    The result will be available in three formats:

    1. Marks obtained out of 200 and in each component
    2. Merit listing – unique based on marks and tie breaking rules
    3. Percentile score based on the merit listing
  • 9. What is the passing score at NATA?

    Qualifying marks for NATA would be based on the following rules:

    1. At least 25% must be secured in MCQ portion (19 out of 75)
    2. At least 25% must be secured in Drawing portion (32 out of 125)
    3. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council. For 2018 & 2019, this score was 70 out of 200 marks.

    Candidate will not qualify in NATA unless he/she satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

  • 10. How is a tie break in NATA merit list done?

    The breaking logic for a tie in NATA marks for the purpose of merit rank would be applied in the following order:

    1. More overall marks obtained in Mathematics test component
    2. Less wrong answers in attempted ones of Mathematics test component
    3. More overall marks in problems of Aptitude test component
    4. Less wrong answers in attempted ones of aptitude test component
    5. Earlier date of birth

    Candidate will not qualify in NATA unless he/she satisfies all three conditions mentioned above.

  • 11. Can candidates ask for re-evaluation of NATA test marks?

    1. MCQ Questions: Before publication of results, the response sheets of each candidate will be uploaded along with subject wise mark(s) secured. Candidates may request for rechecking of the machine recorded responses online by payment of 1000 INR per response (Question) within stipulated period of time. Council will consider all such cases prior to result publication.
    2. Drawing Questions: No review will be available for the drawing test.
    3. Further, there will be no provision for post publication scrutiny and /or review and hence will not entertain any such request after the result publication.
  • 12. Where can a candidate seek admission on the basis of NATA?

    A candidate may apply for admission to any of the participating institutions as per the time schedule specified by the respective appropriate admission authority, along with all the documents desired by it.

    In India, B.Arch program is offered by the following institutions:

    The merit list for B.Arch Admission is prepared on the following bases:

  • 1. What will be the advantages of Multiple Sessions in JEE (Main)-2022?

    The advantages of Multiple Sessions in JEE (Main)- 2022 are as follows:

    1. This will give multiple opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they fail to give their best in one attempt.
    2. In first attempt, the students will get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the next time.
    3. This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste a full year.
    4. If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait for one full year.
    5. A candidate need not appear in all the four Sessions. However, if candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the 2021 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.

    Candidate has option to apply for one Session or for more than one Session (February/March /April/May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly.

  • 4. Does a candidate need to fill up the separate Application Form for each session?

    No, candidate has to fill up one Application Form for all sessions. If he/ she fills up now, there will be only one Application Form. If he fills up now (for a few sessions), and choses to fill up the application for the other sessions later, the same Application Form will be shown to him later on, once the Application Forms

  • 5. Has NTA changed the syllabus of JEE (Main)- 2022?

    No, the syllabus of JEE (Main) 2022 is same as that of the last year. However, keeping in view the decision taken by different Boards all over India, NTA has decided that there will be a total of 90 Questions in the Question Paper and candidate will be required to attempt 75 questions only. There will be no negative marking for 15 optional questions.

  • 6. What is the mode of examination?

    JEE (Main) 2022 Examination will be held in “Computer Based Test” (CBT) Mode only, except that the Drawing Test for B.Arch. will be held in “Pen and Paper” (offline) mode.

  • 7. What will be the pattern of examinations?

    The Question Paper has been divided into two sections. There will be 90 Questions in the Paper 1 and candidate will be required to attempt 75 questions only. There will be no negative marking for 15 optional questions. Paper-wise details are as follows:

    1. B.E./B.Tech. (Paper 1- To be conducted in all four sessions: Each Subject will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
    2. B. Arch. (Paper 2A)- To be conducted in February and May sessions: *Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
    3. B. Planning (Paper 2B)- To be conducted in February and May sessions: * Part -1 will have two sections. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
  • 8. What is the duration of the examination of Timing of Examination for those candidates who wish to appear for B. Arch as well as B. Planning?

    Those candidates who wish to appear for Paper 2A as well as Paper 2B will have the duration of examination 3.30 hrs. i.e. from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • 9. What is the age limit to appear in JEE (Main) -2022?

    There is no age limit for the candidates to appear in the JEE (Main) 2022. The candidates who have passed the class 12 / equivalent examination in 2019, 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main)- 2022 examination.

  • 10. Is it mandatory to upload Gen-EWS, SC, ST, OBC(NCL) and PwD certificate?

    Yes, Gen-EWS/SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD candidates are required to upload original certificate as per prescribed formats issued by the competent authority of their respective State.

    In case, any candidate does not have the certificate readily available with him / her, he/she can upload the self-undertaking (Appendix- 2). However, he/ she will have to upload the requisite certificate before end of May 2021.
